After the dissapointing DNF, Michael said “My Vee Rubber Venom GNCC tires were hookin up great and keeping it planted in the corners to help me pull a decent lead until halfway through the second lap a boulder tore my break pedal off.” “While I was trying to stay in control of the lead, I over heated my front brakes and eventually had to drop out for the day.”
Michael Burrows Rnd 1 of MOC Championship
As the board dropped for the Pro class start of the 2013 MOC season at Lincoln MO, Chance Kellison grabbed the Holeshot followed by Tucker Wyatt, Vee Rubber’s Michael Burrows, Zach Johnson and the rest of the Pro Class. As they rounded turn Two, Michael Burrows took over second place and set his sights on the Leader Kellison. By the midway point of the first lap, Burrows mounted on Vee Rubber Venom GNCC tires took over the lead and the three of them finished the first lap nose to tail with a slight gap back to Jason Robbins who had make his way through the pack from a mid pack start to finish the first lap in the 4th position after smacking a couple of trees trying to stay with the 3 leaders. Zach Johnson lead the next group in 5th, followed by Vee Rubber Mounted Riley Brueggaman in 6th, Dustin Reeves in 7th, another Vee Rubber Mounted rider JD Williams in 8th and Sam Hough in 9th and Lucas Dalton in 10thHalf way through the second lap Michael would be the first victim of the rough track as a large rock sheered his brake pedal off and forced him to overheat his front brakes to try to maintain the lead. Chance Kellison would re claim the lead and hold it to the end of the second lap with a slight 16 second lead on Tucker Wyatt in second, and Jason Robbins who now was moved into the final podium position 43 seconds behind Tucker. Zach Johnson moved up to fourth and Dustin Reeves used lap two to make some passes to go from 7th on lap one to finish lap two in the 5th position.
